Ronda Pass
Ronda Pass is an application that enables access control via mobile devices such as smartphones. The App uses basic access control concepts, but in a more flexible and comprehensive model. The same application that provides a credential to the person, replacing the use of a card, is also capable of performing access validation by replacing a physical reader on the access controller, and uses something that almost every person already has: a smartphone.
When logging into the application, using your Ronda senior X credentials, two validation modes will be available:
- Generate QR Code: in this mode, the smartphone replaces the use of conventional badges, generating a QR Code credential on its own screen to be displayed on the access controller reader. This credential is dynamic, that is, valid for 20 seconds and automatically renewed, generating more security for access control;
- Read QR Code: in this mode, the application, using the smartphone's camera, reads a QR Code tag and validates whether the user logged into the application has permission to access the location. This mode eliminates the need for a physical access controller reader. However, he is still responsible for opening the door or gate present at the location. The QR Code tag that replaces the reader must be printed in the registration of a logical reader, below the access controller that will activate it.
The adoption of this solution contributes to reducing the cost of issuing and losing physical badges, as well as assisting in the provisional credentials process. Furthermore, it can help reduce the number of readers installed on site and even enable access control to locations that do not have infrastructure or that do not allow architectural changes.
