Self-service kiosk installation and configuration
For the installation and configuration of the self-service terminal, the local computer must have the Windows operating system (32 bit or 64 bit) and JRE 8 32 bit installed.
What you have to do:
- Create a specific folder on the local machine, such as C:\self-service-kiosk;
- Obtain the self-service kiosk package from the Downloads screen;
- Copy the SelfServiceTerminal.zip file to the user's local machine, in local folder C:\self-service-kiosk;
- In local folder C:\self-service-kiosk, unzip the SelfServiceTerminal.zip file. After the SelfServiceTerminal.zip file is unzipped, it may be deleted from local folder C:\self-service-kiosk.
- On senior X Platform, go to Technology > Administration > Application Management;
- Click on New application, define the Name (example: self-service kiosk), the Description (example: self-service kiosk - Lobby Management) and click on Save;
- To define the application roles, go to Technology > Administration > Authorization > Role Management;
- Click on the Edit button of the User role;
- In the Applications tab, associate the self-service kiosk application with the selected role by enabling the Associated option and clicking on Save;
- Go to Technology > Administration > Application management to generate the application access keys. On the self-service application, click on Actions and select Manage keys.
- Click on Generate key and, in the configuration file of the self-service kiosk package that was unzipped on the local machine, type the two generated keys, detailed in the following topic ("Define the self-service kiosk properties");
- Leave this screen open to be used in the next step.
In local folder C:\self-service-kiosk, open the application.properties file to edit it and enter the properties:
- access.key = copy the access key generated during the application registration;
- secret = copy the secret generated during the application registration. It is the nameless field right below the Access key.
- tenant.name = define the tenant that will access the application. For example, if the platform user is admin@sam.com, simply enter "sam" in this field.
Leave the other fields of the file with their current values, they should only be modified in specific cases. The fields are:
- server.port = Indicates the port of the Operating System where the service will run.
- spring.servlet.multipart.max-request-size = Maximum size of am http request for the application.
- spring.servlet.multipart.max-file-size = Maximum size of a file sent to the application. Normally used to restrict the photo size.
After completing the information, clickTo save and close the file.
In local folder C:\self-service-kiosk, double click on the create-service file and the start-service file.
Before registering a kiosk, register a property set. Then:
- On the senior X Platform, access Access and Security Management > Entrance Management > Self-service > Self-service;
- Click on Add, define the Description and choose the Lobby in which the terminal belongs;
- Select its Properties;
- Define the Manufacturer:
- Remote access: this option is enabled when the self-service kiosk is used on mobile devices - tablets;
- Videosoft: for terminals of this manufacturer, up to two dispenser ports may be added. The Smart communication port must be defined. For kiosks that use two dispensers, the communication port that will be used for scheduled credentials and that one that will be used for non-scheduled credentials must be defined.
- Perto: terminals of this manufacturer only allow one dispenser port.
- Click on Save.
The Active kiosk checkbox indicates that the self-service kiosk is active and can be selected for use when configuring the device.
The In use checkbox, however, cannot be edited and is only for consultations.
If it is checked, this kiosk is already configured on a device. If unchecked, this kiosk is available to be used on a device, as long as it is also set as active.
The Remove usage becomes available if the kiosk is set as In use. By clicking this button, the previously-associated device is dissociated, and this kiosk may be configured again on another device.
Note
To generate a movement at the end of the sequence, the self-service kiosk must be associated with a lobby that does not use credentials.
Note
In local folder C:\self-service-kiosk, the self-service kiosk service may also be stopped. To do this, double click on the stop-service file.
If you wish to uninstall/remove the kiosk, at the same folder, double click on the remove-service file.
When the self-service kiosk is started, its screen displays the remote access kiosks that were previously registered on senior X Platform > Access Control and Security Management. Select the desired kiosk, enter the IP of the thermal printer that will be used to print the credentials and click on Save.
Note
Currently, only the Zebra GK420t printer is homologated for association with self-service kiosks.
