Time zones
Time changes impact the use of systems, as is the case with Ronda senior X, which is why it is necessary to make configurations to keep certain information updated, such as integrations with devices, for example.
The time zones of the world are counted from the Prime Meridian, and GMT is an acronym for Greenwich Mean Time, known as the official time marker. Each country has a city that is used as the national time reference.
What you can do:
- On senior X Platform, go to Access Control and Security Management > General registers > Time zones;
- Click on the Add button;
- Enter a Name to identify the registered time zone, and select the time in the Time zone field;
- If this time zone uses daylight saving time, check the corresponding field. Then fill in the start and end dates, and select the time variation that will occur between them (increase or decrease one hour);
- Click on Save;
- Then go to Main registers > Physical locations;
- Click on the location you want to configure and then on the buttonTo edit to open your registration. If the location does not yet exist in the system, perform yourregister;
- In General Data, in the Time zone field, select the previously registered time zone;
- Click on the Save button.
The registered time zone can also be used at the User Preferences screen to define the time for the current system user.
- On senior X Platform, go to Access Control and Security Management > General registers > Time zones;
- In General Data, click on the Use daylight saving time checkbox;
- Select the Start date and the End date of the daylight saving time;
- Select the +01:00 option or the -01:00 option;
- Click on Save.
If the daylight saving time starts on 10/16/2016 (Sunday), that is, if this is the first day with the time changed by the daylight saving time, this date must be defined in the Start date field.
If the daylight saving time ends on 02/25/2017 (Saturday), that is, if this is the last day with the time changed, this date must be defined in the End date field. The following day, 02/26/2017, will have the standard time, without the change caused by the daylight saving time.
To use the daylight saving time on the system, on senior X Platform, go to Access Control and Security Management > General registers > Time zones and select a time zone with this information configured. However, the devices registered on the system require additional configurations. To define the daylight saving time for physical locations and devices, follow the procedures below:
- A time zone must be registered on the system, and it must use the daylight saving time. If it is not yet registered, follow the steps shown in the previous process;
- The location where the device will be installed must also be registered on the system. Then, associate the time zone mentioned in the previous step with this location. The procedure is also detailed in the previous process;
- At the main menu, go to Access control > Devices;
- In the device consultation window, select the device to which the daylight saving time will be configured. Click on it, and then on the buttonTo view to open your registration. If the device does not yet exist in the system, perform yourregister;
- In the Physical location field, select the location registered previously, i.e., the location configured with the time zone in the first step and that is, consequently, with the daylight saving time configured;
- Click on Save. Now the daylight saving time is set for this location and its devices. Repeat the process for every location that needs this configuration;
- On the first day of the daylight saving time, a command must be sent to the devices, to ensure that their time is adjusted. To do this, access the device register and click on the Send command button;
- In the window that opened, select the "Configure device" command (for Apollo devices) or the "Set date and time" (for SDK devices) and click on Send command. The command status can be verified in the device registration screen, which stays open after clicking on the button. Make sure the device is online to receive the command.
- Send the command to each necessary device.
When the command is successfully sent, the device should show the correct time on its display.
Note
The permissions must be configured at senior X Platform > Technology > Administration > Authorization > Role Management.
