AGR0020 - Soil Texture
Knowledge and definition of soil texture are fundamental for the success of agriculture, especially in Brazil, where tropical conditions require practices adapted to soil characteristics. Texture influences the retention and release of water, nutrients and oxygen, directly impacting plant growth:
- Sandy soils: drain quickly, which can cause water deficit.
- Clay soils: retain more water, which can impair root aeration.
Understanding soil texture allows for the adoption of efficient practices, choosing suitable crops and varieties, and applying fertilizers correctly, increasing agricultural productivity and sustainability.
In SimpleFarm, the Soil Texture register aims to record this characteristic as a soil attribute. This information is used in agricultural planning, as it influences:
- Resource utilization;
- Area management;
- Definition of the ideal period for activities such as planting and harvesting.
Additionally, this data can be displayed on dashboards and reports, enabling analyses that assist in monitoring production and productivity, as well as in strategic planning.
Important
