AGR0125 - Water Balance
Water Balance is a method used to calculate the availability of water in the soil, considering all inputs, such as rainfall and irrigation, and outputs, such as evapotranspiration and surface runoff.
In the agricultural context, it is an essential tool for efficient irrigation management, helping to determine the timing and ideal amount of water to be applied. This prevents water stress in plants, favoring their development and increasing productivity. In addition, the use of water balance contributes to crop planning, the selection of crops and cultivars suitable for the local climate, and the promotion of more sustainable and economical agriculture.
What can you do?
- Access the menu Agricultural > meteorology > Water Balance (AGR0125);
- To register the water balance, you need to fill in the fields:
- Production Unit ;
- Year ;
- CAD in mm of soil, Latitude , Opening Year , and Closing Year: the fields are automatically filled according to the locations selected on the screen. The CAD field comes from the Soil registration linked to the areas of the location, while the Latitude field is retrieved from the Posto Meteorológico (AGR0118) registration, location tab (according to the locations selected on the screen and the location link in the Facility registration).
